October 15th - 21st, 2007

Monday 15th Early morning visit to dentist and hygienist: Spent much of rest of day writing copy and sending over to newspapers and also updating web sites. Early evening drink with Ralph Cross where we talked about life, the universe and music. Had more to drink than normal. Late evening meal followed by television. 7.0
Tuesday 16th Fortnightly walk cancelled due to impending rain. Walking group came round for coffee. Visited a friend who is off work with high blood pressure. Lunch with walking group at Marlingford Bell. Unable to book a table for their quiz as they are over-subscribed. Evening watching TV. Rained most of the day. 6.5
Wednesday 17th Took car in to Great Melton for repair to damaged wing. Walked back (about 1.5 miles). Spent time on Methodist Church web site. Watched England lose 2-1 to Russia in European Championship qualifier. 7.0
Thursday 18th Lunch with Mel Perkins, Library (somehow books got overdrawn so had to pay a fine). Writing on web sites in evening, had a problem with my ftp software and had to reload it 6.5
Friday 19th Went with Roger Ryan to do an industrial feature at a poultry factory in Redgrave, Suffolk. This took most of the morning. Stopped at South Lopham pub for a sandwich and drink. Walked to Great Melton to pick my car up (excellent job). Evening spent reading and watching Argentina beat France for third place in Rugby World Cup. 6.5
Saturday 20th Visited Wymondham in the morning. They have shut two of the major car parks which meant parking was a nightmare. I expect they will soon be whingeing about losing trade and wondering why! On to Colney to suffer seeing Norwich Under-18s lose quite heavily to Southampton. Then to Carrow Road to see Norwich's latest disaster (a 3-1 defeat against Bristol City) which takes them to second from bottom. Shopped at Waitrose on way home and spent evening watching England lose the Rugby World Cup Final to South Africa, although they did put up a decent show. 7.0
Sunday 21st Another bad day in sporting terms. Hethersett were beaten 2-0 by Norman Wanderers but at least this time it didn't end in a near riot! In the afternoon Lewis Hamilton messed up the chance to be Formula One world champion. After lunch Ron and Jackie came round for coffee and then did some clearing up outside and grass cutting (hopefully the last one of the year). Chris and Lynne arrived and dad came to tea. After the meal spent the evening watching television 7.0
