Space Oddity	*****	7.40	The start of an epic journey through one man's talented psyche. Bowie had a fascination for space - never brought out better than in this chart single which first brought him truly to the public's notice.
Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed	**1/2	6.30	One of Bowie's first attempts to break away from the shackles of folkdom. The results here are rather mixed. The vocals seem confused and the songs length rather leads to tedium.
Letter to Hermione	***	6.60	A plaintive and pretty song featuring Bowie and lone guitar
Cygnet Committee	*****	7.30	This broke the mould. Weighing in at well over nine minutes it has so many changes in direction that it could become burdensome. I remember playing this to friends and hoping they would be as amazed as I was. It justs builds and builds.
Janine	**1/2	6.47	Rather ordinary, Bowie seems to be searching for a melody and the lyrics are too complex.
An Occasional Dream	****	6.90	A beautifully simple song with double tracked vocals and wonderful changes of key.
Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud	***1/2	6.80	Back to the space and alien theme with some dramatic results. Much more subtle and poetic than it at first seems.
God Knows I'm Good	***	6.50	Folksy little song, reasonable feel and Bowie's social conscience arrives.
Memory of a Free Festival	***1/2	6.75	One of the lesser known gems in his repetoire. This features chord organ and has a very English feel about it.
