The Monster Called Life




It wandered on the earth, an earth so cruel and bare,
And trampled on its portion, resisting time's arrest,
Stalking dangerously by the waters of forgiveness
Thoughtfully placed by trembling distraction

It rose and covered the ground about
In lengthy strides and rapturous roars
When all at once the ground about
Rose in torment to divest another.
