Life Passes By

We loved in the summer, we loved in the spring,
We danced by the trees that were bare,
We thought of each other while the birds did sing
And glanced at the beautiful air.

Years have passed my love and I
The trees have lost their hue
The smoke has dashed the colourless sky,
And all the sky from view.

It's winter now and the time grown gray
The silver of life is sucked
The countryside has fallen by the way
And sense from sanity plucked.
