Thoughts Towards A Person Giving Up An Important Living to Dedicate Himself to God.

Why? What made him do it?

What made him give up that profession for this?

What but a belief that he alone would be saved?

But saved from what?

What good is it to save oneself for a wilderness,

A barren place where you can only live alone - an outcast?

Must you prepare yourself for a meaningless, infantile world?

What will you preach then ?

Love is forgiveness or forgiveness is love?

Or will you lose yourself in your own repentance

Entwined with your wishes for humanity?

But there will be no humanity, for yours will be the world,

Yours the glory, the truth and yours the peace.

You will only turn to yourself and to

Men without hope, happy in their ignorance.

Why delude yourself, deep down you know it will never happen.

Within yourself you must hear a voice calling "turn,"

"Turn and enjoy the right road."

                    Go back to your former being,

It is not everything, but in itself it will not last,

For that's one thing the old and new have in common
