Thoughts on a Theme Concerning Religion

Abounding with energy, spread with light
  The ectoplasmic, constellation passes unrestrained
By man's petty mumbling of future time.
I knew thee once my love, I knew thee well

The place is the same, but the people have changed
The laughter's the same, but the place re-arranged.
My time must be up, yours must be too
I knew thee once my love, I knew thee well.

Perhaps it's the thought of my befuddled brain
The locusts have sucked it dry,
But someday our time will return in dead haste.
I knew thee once my love, I knew thee well.

My life began by the babbling brook,
The streaming of my teeming thoughts.
I sat by that bank, remembering that time.
I knew thee once my love, I knew thee well.

But now I must die, the sections are set,
Once more with you I will revere.
The titanic struggle has come to its end
I will know thee my love, I will know thee again.
