The United Kingdom has won the Eurovision Contest five times and
been placed second 15 times. The points system has changed many times over
the years. The highest United Kingdom points scorer was Katrina and the
Waves with 227 in 1997. In 2003 Jemini had the distinction of being
the only UK entry to finish last and recorded the dreaded "nul
points". The
highest winning score was 292 by Finland's Lordi in 2006 and the biggest
winning margin was 70 points by Katrina and the Waves for the United
Kingdom in 1997. Irleand have won the contest the most number of times -
seven UK
