A wonderfully evocative album that defies categorisation. Chapin Carpenter mixes rock, folk and country to great effect on an album that highlights her song-writing talents. The title track has been recorded by Joan Baez and the album has some wonderful lyrics and laid back melodies. Certainly one for the romantics, but there is a tremendous amount of feeling in the lyrics which cover difficult subjects. With Hometown Girl this is my favourite Mary Chapin-Carpenter album.
