Ring Them Bells - 4

Only die-hard Baez fans will be happy with a live album that could have been so much better.

Joan duets with the likes of Mary Black, Mary Chapin Carpenter, the McGarrigles and Janis Ian, but the choice of material is sometimes extremely bland.

The only tracks worth the time are Janis Ian's Jesse, and an excellent version of Diamonds and Rust. Elsewhere it's rather turgid stuff with a dreary unaccompanied version of The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.
